unit 4 d

 Introduction  

My film is called Unsuspecting  

Logistics  

To ensure my pre-production document would go well I created my log on word and originally was adding these things as I went along in order to make sure my pre-production portfolio made sense. I put learning aim B1 and B2 on one big word document however I separated them after I realized I needed to separate pages on my blog.  

Finance  

It wasn’t to difficult to source finance as most of my equipment will be free as I am sourcing it directly from the school and a lot of my locations are free to use, the same with the cast and crew as they are my family and friends. Overall sourcing finance was not too difficult, however the things I do need to finance I will pay for them using my bursary money.  

Creative Process  

Originally it was difficult to think of the creative process especially when it came to my original script however the further, I thought about what I actually wanted to do and was able to find suitable cast members that were willing to help me with the film the creative process became much easier.  

Personal management  

I was the manger when it came to creating the shooting schedule and log however beforehand I emailed my personal to ask them if they could all meet these dates and they said yes. I created my talent release forms and asked each cast members if they feel comfortable playing their role. Overall, my management was successful. However, I think next time I could be more organized, so I have time to correctly write out all my documents.  

Time management  

Overall, I found time management quite difficult. I often found myself needing more time as I started with the bigger tasks first which took the, most time which caused me to forget the smaller tasks and end up rushing them in the last minute. Next time I will complete the smaller tasks first so there all done and out of the way.  

Professional practice  

I would say I was quite professional during this process however because I was working with my family/friends I felt like sometimes I lacked the professional skill I needed to take this movie so I feel like next time I will work with people I do not know.  

Monitoring progress  

My monitoring progress was good and I used my logs to monitor the process. However, to make things neat I think next time I will use a table instead.  

Risk management  

When it came to risk management, I think that overall, it was successful as I completed my risk assessment, and explained all the possible risks and hazards. Overall, it was successful, however next time I think I will create more risk assessments to ensure each part that I wanted to at film was safe and secure.  

Crisis management  

I successfully avoided crisis as I need to make sure that no other people will be filmed without their permission, which is what I avoided as on the days that there will be no one around is when I'll be filming.  

Managing documentation  

Using the templates made the work easier and overall, it was longer to create your own documents. However overall, I would do the tasks in order, so my work is neater and more organized.  

Problems/Difficulties with Project Management 

Overall, the biggest problem I had was trying to create all the documents and putting them together as I started gathering all my information quite late so next time, I will collect my information earlier, so I do not feel like I am rushing through my work.  

Improving Future Productions 

Overall, to make my work easier I think I will start sourcing my locations and creating a log or schedule as to when I want to finish my pre-production documents as I underestimated how much different tasks, I had to do which took longer so next time I will create a schedule.
